Fifth Graders Explore Light Through Interactive Stations

In Mrs. Royer's fifth grade class, students engaged in a hands-on learning experience by working at different light stations. Each group of students explored a unique aspect of light, helping them develop a deeper understanding of its behavior.

One group focused on the concept of light traveling in a straight line. Through a series of experiments, they observed how light does not bend or curve but instead moves in a direct path unless altered by an outside force, such as reflection or refraction.

Another group investigated how light interacts with various materials. They tested how light can shine through different substances, such as glass, paper, and plastic, and observed how some materials allow light to pass through while others block it entirely.

These stations offered the students a fun and interactive way to explore the science of light, reinforcing their classroom lessons with practical experiments. As the activity concluded, the students shared their findings with each other, deepening their understanding of the fascinating properties of light.
