Track Resurfacing

The Track at Abrams Stadium will soon receive a highly anticipated upgrade, as the existing track will be resurfaced to maintain the facility's high standards. The existing track has provided over a decade of service to athletes, coaches, and the community. The original installers, who are returning to complete this project, claim that we have taken great care of the track throughout its lifetime, allowing us to maximize the lifespan of the track to its fullest extent.

The original track was installed in 2013. Although we have taken great care of this investment, the wear and tear over time leads to the need for resurfacing. There are also a few areas of more moderate wear and tear that will be repaired and resealed for added protection. When the project is completed, it will look brand new and remain in prime condition for athletic events and practices. This resurfacing will lead to another 10-12 years of continued use.

One of the exciting upgrades for this resurfacing is the new design. The main color of the track will be Wildcat blue with white striping representing our iconic traditional colors. Additionally, the exchange lanes will be red with white striping, offering a fresh, dynamic look to the track.

This project is slated to begin in early March, weather permitting, and will hopefully be completed for our athletes to use this track season. We are looking forward to many more great years of events on this track at Abrams Stadium!
